Aine Exhibit on Fulton Street
April 6, 2015
On Brooklyn's infamous Fulton Street at the corner of Downing St, Alan Aine has graced us with an incredible series of vivid paintings on the wood of an abandoned building.
As this section of BedStuy gentrifies and transitions from its days of being underserviced and oppressed, the days of this type of wide-open human expression will likely see their end soon.
Prophetically, the next door build heralds the imminent demise of these beautiful and inspiring renditions. As the building for these murals is redeveloped, one can assume that this public art gallery will be forced to close its days.
But weep not...celebrate the fleeting beauty of this series. In life, one learns that many of the most enjoyable aspects of our existence are not only temporary but elusive.
